Foligno in Particolare

An architect commissioned this book.  Much of his work consists of restoring historical houses and palaces in Umbria, in central Italy.  This book, he says, is his bible, as it contains detailed drawings of every architectural element imaginable.  The research that went into it is unimaginable, and I felt it deserved a really special cover.

Not the best photo, but you should just be able to make out the moiré effect on the paper covering the case. I hand-tinted Japanese paper to achieve this effect
