The Art of Vogue Covers 1909-1940
by William Packer
Oh my, what a gorgeous book! I was thrilled when I was asked to bind this. All the stunning illustrated covers. Fantastic drawings by some of the most famous illustrators who have ever lived. The inspiration for this one was instant. I knew it would have to be peacock feathers - what better symbol of vanity? And I knew it had to be a stylised V: for Vogue, for vanity, for the furled tail of a proud peacock. Technically very tricky, but the result was worth it. One of my favourite bindings ever.
